Located in Port Macquarie, Many Rivers Regional Housing (Many Rivers) is a leading not-for-profit provider of Aboriginal community housing services providing property management services for around 450 properties and support for the needs of tenants. Our vision is to Close the Gap in Aboriginal wellbeing through housing, partnerships and community development. 

Many Rivers has recently secured significant funding to upgrade properties via the Aboriginal Community Housing Investment Fund (ACHIF). This is a large project that will bring positive outcomes for tenants, our partners and Many Rivers. 

We are now looking to recruit an experienced and passionate Assistant Project Manager to support the implementation of this project. Our footprint spans from the Hunter to the Queensland border and over the range to the Moore Plains and the New England. This role will require significant travel to site.

This is an Aboriginal identified role and the successful candidate will be asked to provide confirmation of his or her Aboriginality. 

The role

The key objectives of the role are to:

  • Support project delivery of the ACHIF housing up-grade project, including quality workmanship and project timeframes.
  • Support stakeholder relationships with Aboriginal Housing Office, trades people, owners, tenants and community for successful project delivery
  • Ensure all trades are appropriately credentialed and managed and all relevant procedures are followed
  • Support project variation process to ensure the project meets budget targets

To succeed in this role you will need an interest in, and willingness to learn, skills and systems for effective management of residential construction projects and asset management.

If you also have:

  • Qualifications or experience in a relevant field 
  • Ability to build strong and productive relationships with stakeholders including communities and trades
  • Understanding of current NSW WH&S legislation.
  • Financial management capability including the ability to manage a budget. 
  • High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and willingness to learn MS Project
  • A NSW class C drivers’ licence

This is a fixed term contract to 30 June 2022, with the possibility of extension.  

Appointment to this position will be subject to a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.
