Our Client is a non-profit organisation who is looking for a Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing Consultant to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Your key focus in this role is to deliver a safe work culture and safe work practices and employee wellbeing across their company by providing guidance to leaders and employees on Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies, processes and systems, as well as providing advice and support on injury management and return to work, including overseeing the management of workers compensation.

Location: Sydney CBD

This role will involve:

  • Manage consultation frameworks, including communication plans and committees to facilitate engagement with managers and employees on Work Health & Safety (WHS).
  • Provide CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Human Resources Manager with advice on policy, practices and issues of Health, Safety and Wellbeing across the organisation.
  • Provide timely and considered support to injured workers and their managers, guiding them through the end to end workers compensation claims process.
  • Work in close collaboration with the HR Consultant to ensure safe and timely return to work (RTW) of injured workers including, liaising with treating doctors, health professionals, injured workers, their managers, case managers and other stakeholders.
  • Support the HR Manager in the execution of planned and emerging strategic initiatives within the broader context of the People and Culture strategy, and associated projects, as well as providing current research.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role with Injury management and Return to Work experience
  • Collaborative approach with a coaching and mentoring style, to educate and share knowledge.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety best practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how to research, interpret and apply Health and Safety legislation across NSW and ACT.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing Health, Safety & Wellbeing policies and procedures, including development and training of staff in this area in a collaborative manner.
