The Organisation

An exciting opportunity has become available to work for Barnardos, one of Australia’s leading children’s charities. A full time, permanent Program Manager is required for our Temporary Family Care/Kinship Care Program with Penrith Childrens Family Centres based in Cranebrook, Penrith

The Role

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Program Manager will effectively manage the day to day responsibilities of the Temporary Family Care (TFC) and Kinship Care Program and to ensure a high standard of service is provided to families, carers, young people and children in need.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

• A minimum of 5 years working experience in child, family and/or community services
• A minimum 2 years management experience, including demonstrated experience in leadership and staff management
• Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW child protection system including The NSW Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act, current reforms, expectations and standards relating to service delivery in Out of Home Care (OOHC)
• Demonstrated case management experience working with at risk children, young people and / or families in a child protection focused role
• Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, mental health issues, the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development
• Knowledge of financial management

For this role you will need to have a NSW working with children check, and current NSW drivers license.

Pay Range

Salary starting at $91, 491 p.a (includes base & super, but excluding Fringe Benefits Tax / Salary packaging and car). Please note, Barnardos boasts generous benefits with access to salary packaging and the option to package a car with your salary.
