About Time is seeking applications from people committed to the humanity of people in prison and those impacted by the criminal legal system to join its Board of Directors.
About Time is a not-for-profit media organisation, with the goal of providing a window into the hidden world of incarceration and a voice to the incarcerated. About Time’s first project is a national newspaper written predominantly by incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.
It is a free print and online publication that provides essential information about issues that affect incarcerated people, including those relating to their legal affairs, health, and education. It is a paper that seeks to provide incarcerated people with a voice to express themselves and share their experiences, and to help them relate to each other and those outside.
Over the next several years, About Time plans to introduce significant new initiatives including:
As a Board member, you will play a critical role in guiding our strategic direction, strengthening our governance and ensuring our compliance with the constitution and relevant laws. Board members will serve in a voluntary, non-executive capacity.
