about the role

The Workplace Training and Support Co-ordinator provides assistance to employees living with a disability, training them on day-to-day tasks, behaviours, and skills.

We are keen to meet with compassionate, self-starting people who have excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for building rapport with a diverse range of people. Coming to work as a training and support co-ordinator at Ability Works, you can expect your days to include:

  • Maximising employees' full potential/performance by assisting in the development and implementation of training
  • Participating within a team of workplace training, support, and operational staff to place employees into appropriate tasks
  • Liaising with key stakeholders regarding support and case management services, such as parents/caregivers, care coordinators
  • Delivering one-on-one or small group based informal and formal training
  • Working with the support team in the allocation of jobs to maximise training opportunities for employees

We are keen to meet outstanding people who can demonstrate a strong desire and aptitude for:

  • Working with and supporting people who have a disability
  • Training people in multiple manufacturing, packaging and logistics tasks
  • Providing meticulous records and reporting in line with industry standards and compliance

Skills and experience in the following areas will be well regarded:

  • A health science qualification or demonstrated experience working with people who are living with a disability
  • Training qualifications or similar experience
  • Practical knowledge of continuous improvement principles and quality assurance systems
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of Work, Health & Safety (WH&S) legislative requirements
  • Well developed technology skills
  • Current Level 2 First aid qualifications (or willingness to undertake)
