The Education Officer plays a key role in the development and delivery of outstanding Education for Conservation learning experiences that meet the needs of learners, educational institutions and partner organisations: Department of Education and Training (DET) and Catholic Education Commission Victoria, (CECV).
The incumbent will ensure that all learning experiences are underpinned by best practice learning theory, meet the needs of learners and are aligned with Zoos Victoria's moral purpose to fight extinction and create a future rich in wildlife.
Candidates require a teaching qualification for school based education, a Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration (VIT) or working towards VIT registration and a Working with Children Check. Candidates should be able to demonstrate skill in delivering innovative education programs with a sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary learning theories and curriculum developments.
