An exciting new position has opened up as the Production Coordinator for Youthworx, a dynamic and innovative social enterprise based in Brunswick that is growing at a rapid rate. Over the past 10 years Youthworx has developed from a seeded project into a fully fledged youth media organisation that trains, employs and empowers highly marginalised young people. Youthworx has two central arms, Youthworx Media a partnership based training program that offers Certificate II and III in Creative Industries Media and Youthworx Productions, a film production business that employs graduates of the training.

Position Overview

The Production Coordinator is the main point of contact for clients and potential clients. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth running and day to day operations of Youthworx Productions. Responsibilities include client liaison, quoting for and scheduling jobs, budget management, staff rostering, briefing, overseeing and supporting the production team.

The Production Coordinator role requires project management skills - forward thinking and planning, excellent organisational and time management skills. The Production Coordinator must possess the capacity to work with young people in a busy environment, and have a flexible approach to working across the organisation as needed.

The successful applicant will demonstrate attention to detail, enthusiasm and initiative, excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a proven track record in project management. They will also have the ability and confidence to liaise with clients and their colleagues.

Duties

  • Liaise with clients to ascertain project requirements and budget
  • Facilitate production meetings with external clients and contribute to decision making process
  • Co-ordinate the day to day operations of the productions service
  • Coordinate production team rosters and workload
  • Clarify and oversee staff requirements on projects
  • Ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget
  • Evaluate projects undertaken and ascertain the level of client satisfaction
  • Raise the profile of YWX Productions in the community
  • Actively seek project funding in cooperation with other staff
  • Work with the Executive Manager and Business Development Coordinator to engage new business and sales
