Workmate is an exciting new project using digital platforms to communicate with and educate young workers about their rights at work. This project is based at the Young Workers Centre at Trades Hall.
Key Responsibilities
Develop work and safety rights content for WorkMate
- Develop suite of content for Workmate that is tailored to age and other work or demographic statuses.
- Work with Digital Organiser to develop user journeys tailored to age and other work or demographic statuses.
- Oversee and coordinate referral pathways to relevant resources, services and organisations including the Young Workers Centre and Australian Unions.
- Create monthly education content as part of WorkMate and for use and distribution by the ACTU Organising Centre.
- Liaise with project evaluation specialist to ensure learning outcomes are incorporated into Workmate content and user journeys.
Coordinate promotion and marketing
- Establish weekly, monthly and yearly targets and ensure they are reached.
- Work with YWC Director and Outreach Organisers to carry out market research on signup and usability testing.
- Work with YWC Director and Outreach Organisers to ensure promotion of Workmate as part of YWC’s education outreach programs, at university O-weeks and other community events including those in rural and regional areas.
- Work with VTHC communications team to develop online hard copy promotional materials.
- Work with Digital Organiser, external marketing and media companies to book online geo-targeted media buys (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat) to promote signup.
Project evaluation & reporting
- Regular and as required project reports to ACTU and VTHC, including on KPIs and meaningful statistics.
- Liaise with project evaluation specialist to ensure evaluation framework and project updates are implemented.
Support campaigns and teams
- Provide other support to YWC as required.
