Workmate is an exciting new project using digital platforms to communicate with and educate young workers about their rights at work. This project is based at the Young Workers Centre at Trades Hall.

Key Responsibilities

Development of technology

• Liaise with IT specialists and others to develop, build and trial chat bot technology.
• Work with Project Organiser to develop and test user journeys tailored to age and other work or demographic statuses.
• To scope and cost chat bot technology proposal for Workmate, for approval by VTHC and TUEF.

Organise user data

• Investigate and adopt developments/programs to better track, store and use data.
• Manage relationships with IT specialists and others to share platform knowledge.

Digital promotion and engagement

• Develop an engagement strategy to test and trial online and offline recruitment and engagement methods.
• Responsible for regular emails to users as required. Establish weekly, monthly and yearly targets and ensure they are reached.
• Handle online promotion, namely Facebook but also other platforms as used.
• Work with Project Organiser, YWC Director and VTHC communications team to roll outline promotion.
• Work with Project Organiser, external marketing and media companies to book online geo-targeted media buys (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat) to promote signup
• Respond to inbox requests and manage other communications related to the tool.

Project evaluation & reporting

• Work with Project Organiser to provide regular and as required project reports to ACTU and YWC/VTHC, including on KPIs and meaningful statistics.

Other digital support

• Provide other digital support and training as required. Provide digital training to other campaign teams at VTHC and affiliates as needed. Liaise and develop relationships with other key stakeholders as identified.
