Yarra Ranges Community Toy Libraries (YRCTL) is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit community organisation that operates two toy libraries in Mt Evelyn and Montrose, VIC. We service the urban region of Yarra Ranges and surrounding areas. Our collection includes over 2500 toys with age suitability from birth to teenage years and beyond.
Our 100+ member families are able to borrow toys by joining the toy library with a nominal annual fee and commitment to volunteer with us.
We are committed to providing high-quality play and educational experiences at affordable cost to our members. In addition, we pride ourselves on building low-waste community practices and fostering a sense of volunteerism and connection in our community.
We operate borrowing sessions at a variety of times across the week and across our two sites, including a regular stay-and-play session on Monday mornings at Mt Evelyn.
As our Toy Library Coordinator, you will be responsible for the operation of our borrowing sessions; providing friendly and confident customer service to our membership group.
You will not only facilitate borrowing of toys, but also create a welcoming environment and support our members with toy selection based on child development, interests, and skills. You will maintain high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.
This will include performing regular toy safety assessments, cataloguing, record keeping and stocktake. In addition, as Coordinator, you will supervise and train a diverse team of volunteers who are there to assist you during the session.
Hours will be 9 hours per week, across 3 days, and our 2 locations; .
