We are excited to be offering a senior psychologist (P3) position on a full-time or part-time basis. This a rare leadership position in private practice that will offer you the security of an employed position. Help guide our newly appointed psychology interns while having the opportunity to hold a varied caseload of your own therapy clients.
Our current team members are happy to chat to potential interviewees about the culture of YCP.
YCP is a small private practice that has built a reputation for the provision of compassionate and effective psychological services. We see a broad range of clients who access our services through various funding streams including private funding, Medicare, NDIS, and Melbourne City Mission. We work with young adults, adults, and older adults. We have invested in a highly skilled on-site administrative support team who are valued by our clinicians and clients alike. Our office is conveniently located on the east end of Swan St, Richmond, close to public transport, and provides comfortable and private consulting rooms. Currently, we are seeing our clients either via telehealth or face-to-face within government guidelines.
This position will allow you to continue developing your leadership, supervision, and clinical skills. We strive to create a supportive environment for our clinicians that includes opportunities for supervision, debriefing, and professional development. We aim to establish sustainable workloads for our clinicians to help ensure you flourish at work and to feel confident that you can provide high quality services to your clients. Your wage will depend on your experience and skills but will be between $55 and $65 per hour (plus superannuation). In addition to annual leave, you will be offered a week of study leave (pro-rated). A CPD allowance of $1000 per year (pro-rated) will be included. If you would prefer to join the practice as an associate rather than an employee, we are happy to discuss this.
We are looking for a compassionate and non-judgmental psychologist, with at least 5 years’ experience post full-registration, who is a board-approved supervisor. It is important that you are able to be autonomous while also enjoying collaboration with your team members. The right person will be passionate about helping the next generation of psychologists develop their skills, understand evidence-based practice, establish healthy work practices, and build confidence. You will also believe in ongoing personal and professional development. A current Police Check, Working with Children check, and NDIS worker clearance is required before commencing work.
We would particularly like to hear from you if you are experienced and passionate about working with clients who we currently have a high demand from; this includes people with complex trauma, complex mental health presentations, eating disordered behaviours, and/or a neurodivergence. However, if you have something to offer that is not currently provided by our clinic, we would love to hear from you! We are always pleased to find team members who represent the diverse range of people we provide services to.
We strive to create a supportive environment for our team as we know this is what helps you provide the best support for your clients.
Support: As a board approved supervisor, Laura Humphreys offers our team members monthly individual supervision (pro-rated) in addition to ad hoc support and monthly team peer consultation. Our administrative team is led by our practice manager, Tracey Groenwald. The admin team offer support with triage, referral management, invoicing, and administration of routine outcome monitoring.
Resources: We have invested many hours in developing procedures, policies and forms to help our team provide professional and compliant services. We are supported by a medical IT support company (Vibe Group) who manage our medical grade cloud server to securely store clinical data. You will have access to our computers, photocopier/printer, scanner, secure electronic fax, practice management software, online assessment platforms, and iPads. You’ll also have access to our professional library, client workbooks, sensory regulation tools, and psychological and neuropsychological tests (depending on qualification requirements).
