About the position

The YSAS Storytelling Lead is a multimedia content specialist and fantastic writer who thrives on crafting quality content that is responsible for communicating YSAS’s brand, mission, and impact through compelling storytelling.

The Storytelling Lead is YSAS’s internal journalist translating and honouring the experience of young people with lived and living experience, and front-line staff to create impactful digital content, strategic communications and advocacy materials and supporting media engagement in close collaboration with YSAS Advocacy & Communications team members.

Some of the Key responsibilities for this role include:

  1. Content gathering to share the YSAS story, including photography and video for print, online and media;
  2. Writing compelling case studies and communications content for major strategic initiatives, including YSAS-led national fundraiser febfast;
  3. Support YSAS sites and programs to develop communications and content for community-based fundraising initiatives and events;
  4. Lead the management and delivery of YSAS internal communications;
  5. Establish the style and tone for best practice video content at YSAS;
  6. Support the YSAS Advocacy and Communications Team with initiatives and projects in the 2022-2025 YSAS Strategic Plan: Excellence in Practice.
