Youth Projects is an Australian-based independent, registered charity who recognise the complex and varying needs of our clients and offer a holistic model of care and provide pathways into our award winning employment, education and social enterprise programs. Located at two major sites (Hosier Lane and the vibrant Northern region of Melbourne), plus over 14 outreach locations, Youth Projects provides front line support to individuals experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness, alcohol and other drug issues and young people looking to re-engage with learning and employment.

The Jobs Victoria Community Traineeship Pilot Program is funded by the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) in partnership with VCOSS and the Future Social Service Institute. This pilot program will run for 2 years and is an amazing opportunity to develop, trial and evaluate a best-practice employment model that addresses the twin challenges of high youth unemployment and the workforce needs of the fast-growing community services industry.
We will partner with training providers to deliver wrap around, holistic support to young people and employers. Delivering great matches and ensuring sustainability of the traineeships we create. This is an opportunity for someone who thinks outside the box, is flexible, can build great relationships and understands the needs of both young people, and employers.
The Youth Engagement Coach is an exciting position in front-line youth work where outstanding motivation and passion will make the most difference. As one of the first points of contact for young people accessing our Community Services Traineeship Pilot Program this position is critical to the success of our model in engaging. The Youth Engagement Coach will engage eligible young people into the program, providing individualised and intensive support to support a young people to prepare for and commence a traineeship.
This position will report in to a Senior Youth Retention Coach, ensuring that all opportunities for a young person to be ready for and matched to a traineeship are maximised to the fullest, utilising a holistic and individualised wrap around servicing model.
