About the Centre

The State Office is home to YMCA Victoria support functions being Payroll, Business Systems, Finance, Marketing and Engagement and the People & Culture Team. The office is situated in the vibrant Box Hill area, which is host to many amenities; food, transport (Train & Buses) and parks.​​

Key Elements of the Role

The YMCA Victoria is looking for an experienced Learning & Development specialist with excellent organisational and communication skills to develop, deliver and evaluate learning and delivery initiatives across the organisation.

To be successful in the position of Senior Learning & Development Advisor, candidates must have sound knowledge of training and development theories, principles and practices. Applicants should hold a tertiary level qualification in Human Resources or another relevant field.

Candidates should have experience managing multiple small projects and activities simultaneously, allocating time and resources appropriately to deliver against the organisation's overall learning and development objectives.

The Senior Learning & Development Advisor must be comfortable using highly developed negotiation, presentation, problem-solving and influencing skills; building collaborative and consultative working partnerships across the organisation.

Capabilities and Behaviours

  • Ability to manage small projects and activities simultaneously, allocating time and resources appropriately to meet the organisation's overall learning and development objectives.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Sound knowledge of training and development theories, principles and practices.
  • Experience in developing, delivering and evaluating training programmes. Experience working with an online learning management system is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise effectively.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent negotiation, presentation skills, problem solving and influencing skills, with the ability to build collaborative and consultative working partnerships.
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, drawing on strong negotiation and influencing skills to achieve objectives.

Qualifications

  • Working With Children, Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
  • Satisfactory National Police History Check
  • Tertiary level qualification in Human Resources or another relevant field.
