Your new role
Opportunities have opened to join our multidisciplinary teams in Brisbane based at Eight Mile Plains and Springfield Lakes.
Our Occupational Therapists provide a broad range of supports from developmental assessments and therapeutic interventions to equipment, and home and vehicle modifications. Even though the majority of the work we do is with paediatrics and young adults, for interested team members, there is the opportunity to provide some adult and aged care supports.
Successful new graduates joining our team may have the opportunity to commence as a part-time Allied Health Assistant on completion of Degree/Masters prior to AHPRA registration as negotiated. This time can be used to shadow and learn from our therapists.
About you
To be successful in your new role you will possess:
Must haves:
- Recognised tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA registration & Medicare provider number (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical and non-clinical problem-solving skills
- A client centred approach that is both professional and empathetic
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of our multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to provide services that are mostly mobile in the community, along with some taking place in Xavier clinics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Meet suitability requirements including a current police check
- Current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Completion of NDIS Code of Conduct modules
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of and any experience with equipment prescription, and vehicle and home modifications will be highly regarded
- Experience in paediatric developmental assessments and intervention programs
