About the role

The VCAL program at Wyndham Community & Education Centre delivers Foundation, Intermediate and Senior levels.

This roles will focus on the delivery of Literacy and/or Numeracy in the VCAL program.

• Wyndham CEC uses the Certificate of General Education for Adults to meet the requirements within the VCAL Literacy and Numeracy Strands

We are seeking a teacher who possesses the following:

• Demonstrated experience teaching in VCAL programs is desirable
• Experience in working with disengaged young people is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to empower young people to achieve their learning goals
• Work collaboratively to develop to deliver an innovative, creative, flexible VCAL program to learners who have multiple complex needs.
• Conduct classes and provide support to students
• Assess and grade assessments
• Assist in the maintenance of course materials to ensure students receive inclusive, consistent and relevant service
• Meet the requirements stipulated as part of your work plan and job description

About you

You:

• are passionate about empowering learners through quality delivery and assessment
• have the skills and qualifications to deliver programs that provide students with pathways to further education and employment
• would enjoy teaching in a community-based alternative youth education program.

Mandatory Minimum Qual

• Relevant degree in Education or equivalent preferred and
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116); or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) including the units TAELLN411 & TAEASS502 or equivalent units.
• Recent and relevant industry experience.
• Current Working with Children Check/VIT Registration and National Police Check
