Helen Haines MP, Independent Federal Member for Indi has a requirement for a Media and Communications Adviser

This position is vital in keeping the media and people of Indi informed about Helen Haines MP’s work in a timely and professional manner.

It is an exciting opportunity to be part of Helen’s team working to bring about changes and improvements on key issues for the electorate of Indi.

The office is seeking a highly motivated person with relevant media and communications experience who has developed strategic media releases to be used across all the available media platforms. You must be able to adapt strategically to deliver concise and engaging information to a media savvy world including social media networking sites that reflect the values, priorities and ’brand ‘of Helen Haines MP.

You will have a well-developed understanding of the intricacies of the political environment. You will be the point of contact for all media requests for Helen to deliver strategic messaging. Your skills will include building and expanding relationships with the local media and the Canberra press gallery. You will be required to respond to requests for comment at all times of the day and night

Reporting to Helen’s Chief of Staff, the position requires you to work cooperatively within a cohesive team at multiple locations.

The position requires travel to Canberra to provide support during the sitting of Parliament and other places as necessary.

Remuneration is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019.
