Helen Haines MP, Independent Federal Member for Indi has a requirement for a Chief of Staff
This pivotal role ensures that the work of the Office of Helen Haines MP, Independent Federal Member for Indi is managed in a professional and responsive manner.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Helen’s team to bring about changes and improvements on key issues for the electorate of Indi.
As a highly motivated and strategically thinking person, with excellent financial and management skills, you will have worked in a senior executive or senior advisory position, with knowledge of federal politics and parliamentary processes / procedures and major contemporary issues. Your extensive experience is reinforced by a tertiary qualification in Law, Economics, Social Science, Politics or similar.
Your skills will oversee policy development, parliamentary business, strategy and communications for Helen’s engagement with government. You will manage the team to deliver advocacy and representation to the community of Indi on priority issues in a timely and approachable manner.
You will be passionate about building and leading teams and enhancing the skills and expertise of your staff. You have empathy, tact and judgment that assists you to work collaboratively with the wide range of people within the community.
Your communication skills will be exemplary; you will have highly developed skills in relationship building within community and key stakeholders.
The position requires travel to Canberra to provide support during the sitting of Parliament and other places as necessary.
Remuneration is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019.
