Women’s Health West provides specialist family violence services to women and their children. We also run prevention programs that promote equity and justice for women and girls in Melbourne’s west.
Our work has actively contributed to improving the health, safety and wellbeing of women and their children in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne since 1988.
The Youth Resource Officer role has been designed to create resources to improve health, wellbeing, and access to support for young women and LGBTQIA+ people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Youth Resource Officers will collaborate with WHW health promotion coordinators to engage in community consultation, development of resources, and communication of resources to young people. Officers will use well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to access and develop strong networks with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, particularly in the western region of Melbourne.
WHW is currently recruiting for 2 x Youth Resource Officers. These positions are available on a fixed term basis of 5 months at 38 hours per fortnight (FTE 0.5). The role is paid at WHW EA 2017 Level 3, pay point negotiable dependent on experience (62K – 67K per annum at FTE 1.0). Officers will be part of WHW’s Strategy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement stream, be primarily supported by the Team Leader – Action for Equity.

All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police and a working with children check.
