GenWest (formally Women's Health West) is the women’s health service for the western metropolitan region of Melbourne. We focus on supporting women and their children to lead safe and healthy lives and on changing the conditions that cause and maintain inequity and injustice. We do this through two main complementary programs, gender equity and health promotion program plans, and integrated family violence services.
As part of our integrated family violence service portfolio, GenWest works in partnership with the state government in delivering integrated family violence service via The Orange Doors support and safety hubs (‘Hubs’) located at Sunshine and Werribee, with additional satellite locations. Due to this partnership, GenWest is currently looking for an experienced family violence team leader or a senior practitioner that would like to step into a team leader role to join our team. The Specialist Family Violence Team Leader roles will work from our Footscray location until September 2022, roles will then move into the appointed Orange Doors location.
The Orange Door service includes a mix of staff from five service providers including GenWest (Child FIRST, VACCA, VACSAL, Western Health Djerriwarrh). The Orange Door will bring together diverse practices to create an integrated and consolidated intake point to work with victim survivors of family violence, families in need of support with the care, development and well-being of infants, children, and young people and perpetrators of family violence.
The Specialist Family Violence Team Leader will be located at one of The Orange Door sites and employed via GenWest. The role will report directly to the Specialist Family Violence Manager, working closely with Hub team leaders, Specialist Family Violence Senior Practitioners and Practitioners. The Team Leader position is available on either a full time or 0.9 EFT basis and paid at GenWest EA Level 7 pay point negotiable dependent on experience (ranges from $100,262.24 - $104,451.36) pro rata EFT + 10% superannuation. There are multiple positions available across both Werribee and Sunshine locations.

All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police and a Working with Children Check. You also need to provide international police check if you have worked overseas within the last ten years for a minimum of twelve months and provide a COVID-19 vaccination history or authorised medical exemption.
