Windermere is an independent community service organisation working across the South East of Victoria to help those who need it most. Our unique range of services include; Family Health & Wellbeing, Childhood Development, Education & Support, Early Intervention Therapy Services, NDIS Support Coordination and Plan Management, Homelessness Support, Counselling Services, assistance to support victims of trauma, assault and violent crimes and Bushfire Recovery Support Services.
Reporting to the Homelessness Team Leader, you will be fundamental in coordinating and managing Windermere’s residential Mums & Bubs program. As the Mums & Bubs Support Worker, you will aid young single mothers facing homelessness by offering medium term accommodation and provide practical hands-on support to build necessary life skills to live an independent life, including; financial management and planning, parenting and relationships skills, job seeking support and finding long term accommodation.
This is a fixed term part-time position based in Pakenham, working 26.6 hours per week until the end of June 2021, with the very highly likely possibility of extension to mid-2022.
As well as your sound experience as a Support Worker within housing support, you will be tertiary qualified with demonstrated knowledge and understanding within Housing and Family Violence. Your resilient yet compassionate approach to engage with consumers who have experienced trauma or homelessness will be key to your success.
