Community / Outreach Project Manager

Circus Nexus
  • Maternity leave contract - 13-months

Westside Circus is a dynamic youth circus for all Victorians aged 3-25. We are valued by our communities for the contribution we make through circus, youth arts and inclusive education and have been for 22 years. Using these three methodologies we provide arts experiences to young people from varied social, economic and cultural backgrounds.

As a not-for-profit circus arts organisation we deliver three programs to increase the number of Victorian youth who have the skills and confidence to contribute to a healthy, vibrant and artistic community. These programs include Out of School Hours circus classes, an Incursion/Excursion workshop service to schools and community groups, and an Outreach program targeting young people experiencing disadvantage. We reach 3000+ young individuals and produce in excess of 15,000 workshop experiences each year.

Our unique blend of contemporary circus, professional artists and authentic community engagement utilises the creative experience, artistic expression and performance to assist young people to find greater self-esteem, develop positive relationships with peers, family and community and fulfil their own potential.
