As cohealth's Exercise Physiologist (EP) you will work in close collaboration with our team of Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) to develop a consistent program of physical activity across cohealth. You will work with clients in individual assessment, exercise prescription and in coordinating and delivering group exercise sessions. Seeking to build sustainable exercise skills and self-management capacity in all cohealth clients and working closely with partner organisations to promote accessible exercise options for cohealth clients in the local community will be paramount.

As our Exercise Physiologist your responsibilities will include;

  • Providing exercise assessment and evidence based capacity building physical activity programs to meet individual client's needs and goals underpinned by health coaching and person centred goal directed care planning principles;
  • planning, implementing and evaluating group exercise classes;
  • Liaising with internal and external service providers regarding individual client needs, in addition to supporting clients to transition from the health care setting to sustainable community based exercise;
  • Working closely with cohealth AHAs to maximise efficiency and quality in the delivery of physical activity programs; and
  • Providing professional guidance to internal and external stakeholders on exercise and the prevention and management of chronic disease;

To be considered for these opportunities you'll possess;

  • Accredited as an Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA);
  • Demonstrated experience in exercise physiology, preferably in a community based setting.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The capacity to negotiate, prioritise and work autonomously in a challenging and busy role;
  • Proficient with ICT systems, plus have the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Current Victorian drivers licence;
  • Sensitivity and understanding of the particular needs of clients from culturally and linguistically diverse communities
