About the Role

The purpose of the Primary Care Project Officer is to support the Primary Care Project Manager to develop, coordinate, and manage Primary Care projects within Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN). 

The position will be responsible for supporting key tasks and actions to enable timely delivery and organisation of projects in the primary care project team, and will engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver on project outcomes.

The Project officer will also be pivotal in enhancing and supporting other teams within the PHN where needs arise.

This position will be working remotely, from anywhere within the western Victoria region.

Duties

  • Contribute to the full life cycle management of the project. Contribute to and deliver on the project management plan, in line with the Project Management Office (PMO) methodology.
  • Support the Project Managers on the successful development, implementation, monitoring delivery and evaluation of the project/sub-projects within resourcing, timelines and budget parameters, and report on project progress by producing key documents as required.
  • Support the Project Manager to coordinate and procure services with contract management responsibilities inclusive of but not limited to services for resource development, coaching / training and trial activities.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Department of Health and other vested stakeholders.
  • Identify key stakeholders that have an interest in the project’s outcome, including key connections at national, state and local levels, and effectively manage expectations to support positive engagement of the project/s.
  • Support the development and implementation of a communications plan that builds relationships and connections that maintains a high level of awareness amongst key stakeholders, that facilitates information flow and promotes transparency and accountability.
  • Support co-design activities with internal and external stakeholders consistent with the WVPHN Co[1]Design Framework.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven working experience in project management (Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills; able to track the full lifecycle of multiple projects
  • Experienced in creating project plans/schedules and work break down structures
  • Good interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Capacity to work both autonomously and in a team environment on a range of diverse issues to meet multiple project or program quality requirements and deadlines
  • Demonstrated analytical and evaluation skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to identify and proactively assist project manager with resolving project conflicts or issues
  • High-level information technology skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable, together with SharePoint and Smartsheet experience
