Waller Legal is a high profile institutional abuse legal practice helping survivors of sexual abuse recover compensation. We litigate civil personal injury claims and operate under a trauma-informed practice model.
We are seeking highly organised, confident and self-motivated people to join our team with multiple positions available. Legal Assistants with experience in personal injury dispute resolution, litigation and institutional abuse claims are strongly encouraged to apply. Key responsibilities:
- Provide high level administrative and legal assistance to practitioners;
- Maintain orderly and up to date client files and electronic systems;
- Interview and obtain instructions from clients;
- Conduct legal research;
- Prepare memoranda, correspondence and legal documents to a high standard; and
- Prepare and collate briefs to counsel and court books.
Key selection criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice;
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and professionals internally and externally;
- Demonstrated ability to engage with clients who have been impacted by trauma.
- Demonstrated experience working in a law firm or comparable work environment;
- Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills that support the capacity to independently prioritise and manage a diverse range of client matters and tasks in an effective and timely way and meet deadlines and/or budget targets;
- Experience providing support to a supervisor and working collaboratively in a team environment;
- Strong attention to detail and consistent high standards of work;
- Proficiency with IT with proven ability to use Microsoft Office, Google suite and practice management software or other systems for recording data.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Appointment to commence on 5 January 2021.
