Women’s Property Initiatives (WPI) is an independent Melbourne based community housing organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness for women and children. Providing high-quality housing and engaging with support services to ensure a range of support, education, and employment services are provided we work to bring solutions to homelessness for women at risk or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness.
We are currently seeking an experienced Tenancy and Property Manager to join our team.
As a Tenancy and Property Manager you will be responsible for managing tenancies in a manner that fosters a sustainable tenancy, including liaising with renters to address any concerns, and linking renters to appropriate support services as required. Manage and assess new tenancy applications, allocate properties to renters and establish new tenancies in accordance with WPI policies and procedures and client needs. Ensure all tenancies comply with the Residential Tenancies Act Victoria (1997). Be responsible for rental collection, rent reviews, addressing rental arrears and providing monthly rental statements for financial reconciliation.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in providing tenancy and property management in the social housing sector.
You will have a thorough understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act, and VCAT processes. You will take a housing first approach to all tenancy related matters.
You will be able to demonstrate maturity, insight, flexibility, initiative and have the capacity to willingly engage with people to build rapport and trust. You will also have good interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the high quality delivery of tenancy and property management services to all residents of WPI owned properties.
