About the opportunity

The Hearing Voices Youth Facilitator will be responsible for setting up, facilitating and delivering our Youth Hearing Voices Project. Part of the role will be to develop and facilitate the Voices Vic training programs and creating a supportive environment for young voice hearers in recovery groups. Your goal will be to transform the perception of voice hearing, reduce the stigma and provide tools for young voice hearers to change the relationship with their voices.

About you

We are looking for people who are passionate about guiding young people to feel empowered, supported and part of a wider community of voice hearers who have transformed their relationship with their voices and found recovery.

You will have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, the ability to work well in a team and prior experience and understanding of supporting people in mental health services.

In addition, you will have demonstrated facilitation experience and confidence in delivering training and information sessions to youth focused tertiary education programs and health services across Victoria.

The ability to work well with young people between the ages of 16 and 25 will be essential for this role.

A qualification of Certificate IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, Training and Assessment and/or Formal Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, Youth Work or other Allied Health Disciplines are the minimum requirements for a Hearing Voices Youth Facilitator. Qualifications or training in facilitation are desired but not essential.
