About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team with the Enhanced Therapeutic Contact Service (ETCS). Based in our Doveton centre, services are also offered in a range of community settings in the southern suburbs.

This is initially a 5 month maximum term appointment, due to an internal career development transfer. Options for extension and/or transfer to similar and close by options will be available.

ETCS supports children who have been placed out of their parents’ care, to have positive, supervised contact with their parents and family members. Referrals come from Department of Health and Human Services, Child Protection.

The Social Worker will:

  • Facilitate therapeutic contact between children and their parents
  • Plan and deliver therapeutic interventions to enhance the social, emotional and psychological development of children and their families during contact
  • Provide transport for children
  • Provide case work support
  • Coach, play and role model
  • After-hours work required from time to time

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field.
