About the opportunity

Funded by the Federal Government’s Department of Employment, the ParentsNext program will assist community members residing in the Hume Local Government Area who are trying to join or re-enter the workforce by providing practical assistance to help them into gainful employment. We are seeking an experienced Case Worker with significant sector knowledge and expertise to work with parents to help them achieve their employment goals while ensuring respectful engagement at all times and focusing on strengths and capabilities.

About you

To be eligible, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification within a relevant and related discipline e.g. Social Work, Community Services (Welfare Studies) or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in case work gained within the community sector or employment services
  • Strong case management skills including an ability to utilise strength based approaches to case management
  • Proven skills in networking and working in partnership with participants and agencies to strengthen relationships and improve problem solving capabilities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the capability to build constructive relationships with a broad range of people from CALD backgrounds.
  • Well-developed IT skills and competency in Microsoft Programs including use of databases
