WLHH is a leading specialist family violence service providing safe accommodation, advocacy and support to clients experiencing family violence. Women's Liberation Halfway House (WLHH) was established in 1974 by activists of the women’s movement - as the first refuge for women in Victoria and we have continued our 49-year history as Australia’s longest running independent, feminist crisis accommodation service.

WLHH provides a comprehensive crisis response to victim/survivors experiencing family violence, including people from communities with access to least resources, to effectively support them in their transition and recovery:

  • Short term crisis accommodation
  • Outreach support
  • Secondary consultations
  • Case management
  • Advocacy

The HR/OHS Coordinator is a vital role in supporting the organisation’s operations and contributing to the overall effectiveness of our organisation. The HR Coordinator plays a key role in various HR functions, acting as a liaison between employees, leadership and staff.

The HR Coordinator role is responsible for supporting and assisting with a wide range of HR requirements including talent acquisition/recruitment, employee onboarding, HR documentation and record keeping, employee files and administration of benefits such as external professional development and clinical supervision and employee relations.

The HR Coordinator is responsible for keeping the newly integrated Employment Hero HRIS up to date with relevant data, policies, and compliance. The HR Coordinator also maintains accurate up to date HR Data for compliance and accreditation, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, and providing effective and efficient HR services to our employees. The role has overall OHS responsibilities to support the staff with their health and well-being issues.

The HR Coordinator interacts with all levels of the organisation, addressing HR related queries and assisting with problem resolution.
The HR Coordinator also contributes to the development and enhancement of HR Processes, procedures, and policies.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma or Certificate IV in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or equivalent
  • Proven experience as HR officer, administrator or other HR position, knowledge of HR functions (recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of business process and administration.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Strong ethics and reliability

Desirable criteria

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • HR/OHS Credentials
  • Previous HR/administration work in non-profit sector within a strong feminist framework will be advantageous.
