WISE Employment – a leading national employment support organisation committed to improving the employment outcomes for people with mental health conditions – is looking for an advocacy networking and development manager for its WISE IDEA (Innovation Development Evaluation Application) program. WISE IDEA researches, develops, pilots, and evaluates new approaches to assisting people living with mental health conditions to get and keep a job.

This part-time (0.5 FTE), 24-month position is an exciting opportunity to increase the Government’s and community mental health and employment sector’s awareness of the evidence-based vocational rehabilitation and employment support programs developed for this group. The position includes updating website content, developing case studies and newsletters, identifying advocacy and networking opportunities as well as promoting WISE IDEA products and services to a range of customers.

About You

  • Highly developed planning, coordination, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Outcome focussed with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and promote programs through a range of channels.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key partners and networks.
  • Ability to be responsive and proactive with networking and social media.
  • Ability to operate in an environment of innovation with an element of trial and error.
  • Computer literate and an ability to work towards KPIs.
  • You will thrive on our key attributes of Customer Centricity, Curiosity, Resilience, Adaptability, Creativity and a Growth Mindset.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field.
  • Full Australian working rights, ability to satisfy national police check and Working with Children Check requirements and Disability Workers Exclusion Scheme clearance.

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of the mental health, disability employment and NDIS frameworks and associated complexities.
  • High level of skill in Adobe Creative Cloud or similar.
  • Experience and demonstrated skills working in the areas of mental health and employment.
  • Knowledge of other Commonwealth, State and local government programs and initiatives, including other mental health programs as well as networks in community-based support.
  • Australian Drivers' licence (desirable but not required).
