About the Role

As the Practice Manager you will lead and manage a small team of experienced case managers to deliver quality services in accordance with WAGEC mission and values.

You will direct the team’s practice to ensure that WAGEC client services are delivered using a person centred & trauma informed approach.

You will be responsible for managing a crisis refuge for fifteen women and a transitional housing property for ten women, who are experiencing homelessness and/or escaping domestic violence. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating small projects and contributing to the growth and development of our services for women and families.

As the subject matter expert in mental health, you will provide technical expertise to Case Managers and other WAGEC staff so that there is an increased organisational understanding of evidence-based practices for working with people around child protection.

You will be working in a very supportive and collaborative team, reporting to the Clients Services Manager and working closely with a group of other Practice Manager’s across the organisation.

About You

To excel in this role, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas of work; managing a crisis refuge, experience in the area of mental health, managing teams and programs in the areas of domestic and family violence or homelessness.

You are a creative professional, who works to high standards and wants to make your own mark on the development of our new program which aims to provide pathways to education, training and employment opportunities to women.

You love to keep busy and can juggle many balls in the air at any one time. You are a critical thinker with a hands-on approach and want to work for a dynamic organisation that values its staff and truly makes a difference in the lives of women and children.

You have strong leadership skills that enable you to work autonomously under a broad direction from management.

To be considered for this role it is important that you have:

  • Experience with one or more of the following - managing a crisis accommodation refuge, mental health, managing teams and programs in the areas of domestic and family violence or homelessness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of motivation and leadership potential for managing a busy accommodation service and staff
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised under a broad direction of management
  • Proven experience working with people with complex needs including families
  • Deep knowledge of domestic and family violence, person centred approach and trauma informed care
  • Demonstrated accurate and timely administration ability
  • Demonstrated high levels of internal and external customer service skills
