GWAHS is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife to work as a Nurse Supervisor in the Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program. The Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program (ANFPP) is a nurse-led home visiting program based on the US Nurse-Family Partnership. The program empowers and informs first-time Indigenous mums or mums whose partner is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and supports them to reach their personal goals and grow strong, healthy families.
The program is a part of the Australian Government's commitment to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with particular focus on maternal health and early childhood development.

The Nurse Supervisor is a leader, coach, mentor and educator. Their role is integral to the success of Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program (ANFPP). Part of the role includes support and supervision of the ANFPP team in collaboration with the ANFPP Team leader, including the Nurse Home Visitor (NHV), Family Partnership Worker (FPW) and administration. The Nurse Supervisor works closely with WACHS to build strong relationships between the ANFPP team, families and the community and works closely with the National Program Centre to ensure fidelity to the program model.
The role is supported by the National Program Centre who provide education on the ANFPP, and a network of nurse supervisors nationally.
Greater Western Aboriginal Health Service (GWAHS) is an entity of Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service. GWAHS provides a culturally appropriate comprehensive primary health care service for the local Aboriginal communities of western Sydney and the Nepean Blue Mountains through sites in Mt Druitt and Penrith.
The clinical service model includes general practitioners (GPs), Aboriginal Health Workers, nursing staff, reception and transport staff. The service also offers a number of wraparound services and programs focused on child and maternal health, social and emotional wellbeing and AOD, chronic disease, as well as population health activities.
GWAHS is committed to ensuring that patients have access to and receive high quality, culturally appropriate care and services that meet the needs of local Aboriginal communities.
The position reports directly to the Team Leader ANFPP (Nurse Supervisor).
