About the Role

The Diversity and Inclusion Consultant will work closely with the Diversity and Inclusion Manager to support, promote and implement the University’s diversity and inclusion agenda. Coordinating and supporting a range of People and Culture driven Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, the Consultant will focus on the assessment, design and facilitation of a suite of programs that will play a part in implementing the HR strategy 2016-2020.

About the Person

Having previously worked in a diversity and inclusion role, ideally in the higher education sector, you will have sound experience in the application of contemporary diversity and inclusion practices and approaches as well as a working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks. Experienced in working across a large organisation, you will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and cheerful individual, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders at all levels. You will have a strong passion for diversity and inclusion and have a commitment to social justice. Your high level communication skills and excellent computer literacy, data analysis and interpretation skills, will serve you well in this role.

Duties

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Work with the organisational units to ensure diversity and inclusion programs and activities are integrated into everyday practice to create, promote and maintain a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Under the broad direction of the Diversity & Inclusion Manager, support and prepare regular reports on diversity & inclusion initiatives and activities, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Gender Equity Committee, the Gender Equity Advisory Group and other Committees as required.
  • Review and relaunch existing programs and initiatives related to Gender Equity, Disability, CALD and LGBTI to increase workforce participation and engagement of diverse groups.
