Victoria University (VU) is seeking an exceptional, creative leader who will drive the future of philanthropy at the institution.
Developing and delivering a new advancement program, the Chief Advancement Officer will develop and lead the execution of a plan that focuses on opportunities that support our deep commitment to equitable access to education and progressive societal change.
This is a key leadership role that will be required to elevate and position VU as a bold and progressive institution – a university of first choice for students, staff, industry, community and government. The Chief Advancement Officer will play an important role in fulfilling this ambition, and in articulating our story as we achieve the objectives of the Strategic Plan, 2022-2028: Start well, finish brilliantly.
Always welcoming, ethical, and seeking to shape an innovative, inclusive future – this is Victoria University (VU). Proudly of the west of Melbourne, and proudly progressive. We care and we act.
VU is home of the award-winning VU Block Model, an Australian-first and is one of Australia’s leading dual sector universities. We are student-centred with just over 52.7% of our students first in family to undertake a degree and 67% from student equity groups.
VU is looking for a bold, inspired and courageous individual who will lead the strategic direction, development, implementation and delivery of an exciting and diverse advancement and engagement program, with a focus on growing fundraising revenue and valued partnerships for the University.
The Chief Advancement Officer will create a new philanthropic culture within VU, building enterprise capability, with a sustained focus on engaging and connecting with alumni, community, and current and potential donors and supporters.
At VU we stand for inclusivity, innovation and excellence and we seek a Chief Advancement Officer who is as committed to these values as we are. If you are looking for a role that will give you the opportunity to champion and shape the University’s bold plan to be a global leader in dual sector learning with a profound commitment to inclusivity and protecting country – this role is for you.
Victoria University honours its deep diversity as a foundation for collaboration and social progress. We will demonstrate sensitivity in respecting First Nation perspectives. We will ensure that we respect our Indigenous voices and commit to sustainable Protecting Country. We will take leadership responsibility, in all that we do, to improve the health and wellbeing of our local and global communities, and the planet that we share.
Victoria University is committed to inclusion and diversity, achieving gender equality in senior roles, and strongly encourages suitably qualified and experienced people to apply.
