Enquiries and Review Officer

Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner

The Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner (VLSB+C) is the regulator of the legal profession in Victoria. We are responsible for regulating lawyers through the granting of licences as well as investigating and acting on enquiries and complaints from the public. As a modern regulator, we are committed to educating lawyers about current and emerging issues to drive innovation, compliance and harm reduction, and improving the public’s understanding of the legal sector to ensure all Victorians have access to effective and high-quality justice. Our people are passionate about maintaining and protecting the rule of law by ensuring the integrity of the legal profession.

About the Position

We are currently looking for two Enquiries and Review Officer's to join our team, one Ongoing and one for a fixed-term period.

The Enquiries & Review Officer is responsible for acting as the face of the VLSB+C by taking all enquiries from the public, consumers and lawyers, whether received by telephone, online, or in person; and either seeking to resolve these if resolution is appropriate or alternatively referring these within the Division for handling.

The Enquiries & Review team acts as a “concierge” for consumers and lawyers and serves as a single point of contact to help them navigate the various parts of the organisation. It assesses the needs of those contacting our office, triages and directs enquiries and complaints to appropriate areas of the organisation, and resolves enquiries and complaints within the team. The team is also responsible for managing licensing enquiries and the PC renewal process, and maintains the lawyer register.
