The Family, Youth and Children’s Law (FYCL) program is seeking a self-motivated legal assistant to join our team of professional and support staff based in Melbourne CBD. In this role, you will work with a team of legal assistants to provide a wide range of legal administration support services to a team of lawyers. Your duties will include but are not limited to; responding to client enquiries including matching clients’ needs to appropriate services, email, diary management and bookings, maintaining client database and case management system, and general administrative duties. You will also assist in court clerking or provide assistance to other teams within the program as required.
You will be experienced in providing administrative support and client services in a complex and sensitive environment. You will demonstrate highly proficient word processing, audio typing and file management skills and excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently and meet deadlines.
To be successful in this role, you will enjoy the day-to-day challenges of working within a fast paced and high-pressure environment and have sound problem solving skills to ensure clients’ needs are met. You will also have a willingness to learn and contribute to the promotion of our organisation’s vision and values.
