This is an excellent opportunity to lead and manage our highly collaborative, supportive and productive Melbourne family and children's law administrative services team. This team provides support to legal service areas including family law, family violence, Independent Children's Lawyers, child support and child protection.
In this role you will lead a dedicated team of multi-skilled legal assistants, ensuring the effective day to day operations of the team and high-quality service delivery. You will coordinate the administrative support provided to legal staff, support the wellbeing and professional development of your team members and work collaboratively with fellow members of the management team to develop and implement policies and strategies that enhance and support quality service provision for clients.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director and working closely with other managers, this presents an excellent opportunity for an administration expert with a keen interest in broadening their people management skills and working within the legal industry.
You will have strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead and develop a team and drive service delivery improvements in a fast paced and changing environment. You will have experience in coordinating administrative services and managing physical resources and have a commitment to fostering a positive, collaborative and high performing team environment.
Crucial to your success in this role is your understanding and experience of effective administrative support services and ability to apply this to the benefit of both your legal support team and the Family, Youth and Children's Law program more broadly.
General knowledge of the law and legal procedures will be highly regarded, but equally important is your drive to continually improve your knowledge and experience in this area and your commitment to our vision and values. As such, previous experience working in a family law environment is not a mandatory requirement for the role.
Our vision is for a fair and just society where rights and responsibilities are upheld. With over 800 staff employed in 14 offices across Victoria, we help people with their legal problems by providing information, advice and education with a focus on the prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We also provide legal representation to those who need it most.
We offer attractive employment benefits including salary packaging (making part of your salary tax-free), flexible working arrangements, family friendly policies and opportunities for professional development. Whilst the work is challenging, you will be rewarded with a culture that is focused on achieving quality outcomes for disadvantaged Victorians.
