About the VEC

The VEC conducts State and local council elections and is responsible for promoting public awareness and understanding of electoral issues in the Victorian community. About the role

The Engagement Lead within the Education and Inclusion team is pivotal in managing the four Community Engagement Coordinators, as well as collaborating with the Education Lead to design and manage the VEC's community-based electoral education and engagement programs. The role is key to supporting meaningful connections between organisations, stakeholders, the community and VEC staff to ensure a high level of collaboration in order to improve electoral participation of traditionally under-represented groups. What you'll bring to the role

  • Technical Knowledge: Experience in applying specialist diversity, equity and inclusion knowledge to community engagement initiatives. Qualifications, experience and/or in-depth knowledge of co-design, design principles, asset-based community development and risk identification and mitigation related to community engagement initiatives.
  • Project Management: Ability to project manage multiple community engagement projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance measures.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to guide and support a team involved in delivering effective and high-quality education programs. Experience working with cross-functional teams to provide direction, and promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
