About the VEC

At the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) we are not just about elections, we are about enabling all Victorians to actively participate in their democracy.  The VEC conducts State and local council elections and is responsible for promoting public awareness and understanding of electoral issues in the Victorian community.  Our goal is to be change ready and responsive to legislative changes and community expectations in a dynamic and complex operating environment.

About the role

Reporting to Manager Education and Inclusion, the Education Lead provides coaching, support and advice to their direct reports on planning, implementing and evaluating high impact education programs, which currently includes the VEC's flagship programs Passport to Democracy and the Democracy Ambassador Program. What you'll bring to the role

  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies (i.e., e-learning, blended learning new emerging methods), best practices, trends and challenges in adult education environments.
  • Project Management: Ability to project manage multiple community education projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance measures.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to guide and support a team involved in delivering effective and high-quality education programs. Experience working with cross-functional teams to provide direction, and promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
