The Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) was established in 1973 to address the specific medical needs of Victorian Aboriginal communities. The organisation has expanded steadily over past 40 years to provide a comprehensive range of medical, dental and social services for our community.
As well as providing a variety of medical services, VAHS is committed to supporting the well-being of the community through contributions to community events and activities. VAHS is also committed to assisting research into the ongoing needs of the community.

The position is responsible for providing quality and culturally appropriate community based Exercise Physiology services to individuals and groups who are from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The Exercise Physiologist will work within a multi-disciplinary team and in collaboration with our Physiotherapists, to develop a program of physical activity, assessment and treatment of clients who have chronic medical conditions. The role will include health education and tailored exercise sessions for individuals as well as groups.
The target groups are clients who are eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home and the Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC PYP). Referrals will be received through My Aged Care and GP’s.
