Trainer / Assessor - Community Based RTO

Expressions of Interest are sought for a Trainer/Assessor .8 EFT (4 days a week)

Our successful Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivers Certificate IV in Community Services Work and Diploma of Community Services Work to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students.

This position will be responsible for delivering accredited training sessions for the VACSAL RTO and for assessing the competency of students engaged in accredited training and assessment programs.

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills, qualifications and experience:

Qualifications

  • CHC42015: Certificate IV in Community Services
  • CHC52015: Diploma of Community Services. This includes Diploma of Community Services (Statutory & Forensic Child, Youth and Family Welfare)
  • Trainer/Assessor
  • Vocational competencies at least to the AQF level being delivered (mandatory).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification at least to the AQF level being delivered (mandatory).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) or its equivalence (mandatory). This includes the unit TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools.
  • Successful, relevant industry or sector experience, relevant qualifications and understanding of the competencies required in the workplace environment. .

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

  • Commitment to a high level of service and improving outcomes for Aboriginal students.
  • Experience working in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
  • Experience working within a cross-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Ability to work with others as a member of a team.
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently.
  • Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge and skills in contemporary human resource management practices including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
