This is a teaching and research position for a talented educator with demonstrated excellence in education and research in the area of Indigenous and Population Health. Your leadership in Indigenous and Population Health for pre-registration students will make a significant contribution to the field of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health in the School research portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant contribution to high-quality teaching and learning practices, curriculum design and evaluation at pre-registration, honours and post-registration levels. This position will also be required to assume academic administration and school leadership responsibilities and maintain community engagement.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Demonstrate leadership and promote excellence in teaching in the area of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health

• lead high quality teaching (at pre-registration, honours, and post-registration levels) in Indigenous health and population health.
• coordinate and develop curricula and programs within the School/Faculty (e.g. Coordination of a major field of study, large award program or a number of smaller award programs)
• develop, trial and evaluate innovative practices in teaching and learning with a view to improving educational outcomes
• develop, manage and lead teams and projects
• supervise higher degree research students to successful completion
• systematically collect and use feedback on student learning to adjust educational approaches to improve student outcomes.

About you

• actively engaged with Indigenous community
• Master of Nursing or a Health-related discipline
• PhD or working towards completion of a PhD in an academic field relevant to nursing, or if you do not hold a PhD/are working towards completion of a PhD, please provide evidence of equivalent learning and development, e.g. publications, essays, books/book chapters, creative works
• current AHPRA registration as a nurse
• demonstrated success in contributing to an enabling environment for students and colleagues supporting the development of an enabling and inclusive academic environment and one that is culturally safe.
• demonstrable experience in providing supervision and mentorship to others in relevant contexts.
• have experience of using authentic methods for expanding Indigenous ways of being, doing, knowing and becoming among learners
• evidence of being able to generate research and/or project funding collaboratively with communities and a range of relevant collaborating partners.
• willing to develop an international research profile evidenced by publications and research outcomes
• ability to demonstrate leadership in a health setting or similar
• commitment to ensuring academic and educational excellence
• willing to work with a collaborative and dynamic team to ensure best practice in teaching and learning
