About the Opportunity:

  • SCHADS Level 3 base pay $34.04 + 25% Casual loading + Penalty rates + Super

Uniting is seeking for Youth and Adult Support workers (leave coverage casual opportunity) across these crisis accommodation sites in Harris Park, Merrylands, Westmead, North Parramatta, and Toongabbie. We are looking for someone who is flexible and available on a casual basis. 

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Responsible for assisting clients (youth and adult) to access safe, affordable, and stable accommodation.
  • Providing holistic support and advise from intake to exit.
  • Offer referral to medical services.
  • Assisting in enabling clients to overcome barriers which have contributed to their homelessness or risk of homelessness.  

Who we’re looking for:

  • Studying towards or hold a Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or equivalent and relevant to the field of work.

Even Better:

  • Experience within the homelessness support sector or similar. You will be continuing to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline.
  • Experience working with vulnerable people, relevant to the service 
  • Knowledge of best practice for Specialist Homelessness funded Services

About the Service

Specialist Homelessness Services of Uniting provides crisis supported accommodation with case management, for people from aged 16 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Our services provide 24/7 onsite support and assistance with education, employment, referral into counselling services, health services, living skills and parenting programs.
