About the role:
As a Senior Database Administrator your role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and management of Uniting database platforms, ensuring the performance, integrity and security of all data encompassed within the core business applications. Maintenance typically includes investigation and resolution of problems, incidents and requests and may also include performance monitoring. Resolution may be achieved by providing advice or training to users, by devising corrections (permanent or temporary) for faults, making general or specific modifications, updating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements.
Qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in database management
- Bachelor qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of TSQL and PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience with versions of SQL Server from SQL 2008 R2 up-to SQL 2019
- Experience in managing high availability solutions Always-On availability groups, failover clusters and transactional replication.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure SQL databases.
- Experience in administration and management of reporting services (SSRS), Integration services (SSIS) and Analysis services (SSAS)
- Demonstrates solid professional experience in medium to large organisations
- Experience in engaging stakeholders and developing relationships
- Ability to operate autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in the leading, mentoring and guidance of junior database administrator
