About the Role
Uniting is seeking experienced ACFI/Quality Coordinator.
As an ACFI/ Quality Coordinator you are responsible for the ACFI/Quality Coordination at the designated homes.
This is a local service leadership role that requires skills in mentoring and education, communication, and computer literacy. Ongoing operational support will be provided to ACFI/Quality Coordinators from key staff such as Quality Improvement Specialist, Quality Improvement Lead and ACFI Funding Specialist.
ACFI/Quality Coordinator Role:
ACFI Coordinator:
- Work directly with Service Manager/s and the local team to improve revenue through ACFI.
- Implement the organisation’s ACFI management system at a local level.
- Monitor and audit local ACFI performance as well as identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve the revenue generation for the local team and the viability and appropriateness of the existing ACFI systems and processes.
- Deliver training on ACFI to Services Managers and local teams.
- Assist the Quality Improvement & Funding Specialist with ad-hoc ACFI/financial reporting to the senior management team.
- Provide input, where requested, on the development of ACFI capability training programs.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of resident care and clinician education programs in order to address identified ACFI requirements.
- Embed the associated comprehensive and nursing assessment and care planning process with registered nurses at the local level.
- Participate in and comply with all quality management systems and processes.
Quality Coordinator:
- Work within relevant government legislation and Uniting policies and procedures.
- Manage queries and complaints from our clients and their families, as well as your co-workers and other service providers, that come your way in a confidential and timely manner.
- Ensure monthly audit tools are completed as delegated by the service manager.
- Monitor equipment to ensure it’s in safe working order and request maintenance and repairs when needed and reduce client incidents and unsafe work practices
- Monitor and coordinate the adherence to the homes audit schedule collaborating with the Quality Registered Nurse.
- Provide assistance, relevant explanation sheets and advice to staff when delegating audits for completion, collaborating with the Quality Registered Nurse.
- Consider content from audits, surveys and other data gathering and contribute suggestions for the plan for continuous improvement.
- Assists/ provides manager/ DSM with required data for monthly reports.
- Promotes quality improvement processes and encourages staff to provide feedback and ideas on initiatives for improvement.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Qualifications: Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support with relevant extensive experience in a similar role with proven capabilities to work at this level.
- Desirable: Certificate IV in Aged Care/Individual Support.

Experience:
- Typically, this role will require three or more years’ experience in your field of expertise. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined. You will be continuing to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline. It is expected that you will possess good skills at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required.
