About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a passionate qualified Educator to join the team as a 2IC on a part time permanent basis!

This is a great opportunity for an experienced educator to support and mentor their team while also working closely with the Coordinator of the service.

You will be required to work 5 days per week with flexibility on shifts! 

The Uniting Wahroonga Prep OSHC is licensed for 45 children during After School Care and Vacation Care. As a specialist in  Prep - Outside of School Hours Care and having a strong knowledge of the National Quality Standards, you will build a strong community culture in the centre and school, liaising with parents and developing staff.

Hours of operation are:

  • 2:30pm- 6:00pm Monday to Friday
  • Vacation Care  service operates 8am-6pm

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Qualified Educator, you’ll provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework! 

Your care work may include:

  • Contribute to the development of programs which reflect the approved learning framework.
  • Developing positive and respectful relationships that support children, their families and community.
  • Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
  • Documenting children’s learning through observations and assessments against learning outcomes

Who we’re looking for

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Children Services, Early Childhood Education or School based education (essential), with previous experience working at an OSHC service.
  • A work history that demonstrates recording observations, writing learning stories and supporting the planning of a successful curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework and My Time Our Place Framework.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
