About the Role
Full time, permanent (35 hours per week). Based in Gosford.
This role will casework for the Reconnecting Adolescents and Parents Team (RAPT) providing early intervention services to young people who are at risk of or have become homeless and their families in order to prevent homelessness and link the young person into educational, vocational and community.
About You
- This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People All applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977
- Provide evidence of Aboriginal identity, and be able to demonstrate ability to work effectively with Aboriginal peoples and communities
- Relevant qualifications in Social Services/Community Services
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting on homeless young people and families
- Demonstrated experience in developing a support plan, provide casework support and follow up
- Ability to provide effective assessment and referral for a variety of issues and facilitate young people's access to services that will meet their needs
- Excellent communication skills including-advocacy, mediation, conflict resolution, and written skills
- Ability to contribute to program development and evaluation
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Current driver’s license
