About the Role

The Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion is currently recruiting for a Research and Evaluation Officer to contribute to the enhancement of social impact at UTS through providing research and evaluation support to the Social Impact team. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and contributing to community-based and engaged research and evaluation projects, supporting community action through asset building and knowledge translation, and developing evaluation resources and capacity building offerings. The role will also be responsible for managing key internal and external relationships.

As the Research and Evaluation Officer, you will:

  • Contribute to building social impact knowledge and practice by coordinating and undertaking community-based and engaged research and evaluation projects. This includes: conducting literature reviews; collecting and managing qualitative and quantitative datasets, with consideration for ethics and privacy; and performing statistical and qualitative analysis (in SPSS and Nvivo).
  • Alongside program leads, design and deliver evaluation capacity building offerings to key stakeholders and partners, this includes online and face-to-face workshops and courses, as well as 1:1 coaching with partners
  • Project manage research and evaluation projects including developing overall project plans, tasks, deliverables and milestones, budgeting, timelines, resource support, data management and reporting Develop and implement the internal CSJI capacity building program
  • General team engagement, administration, record keeping and reporting

With examples from your previous work experience, please outline, in a separate document, how you meet the following six (6) key selection criteria points below:

  • High level of project management and organisational skills, with proven ability to work autonomously to coordinate projects and prioritise workload to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in research and evaluation methodologies and theoretical frameworks, including experience developing, implementing and reviewing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms that draw on mixed methodologies and gather both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Significant experience in the collation and analysis of data from multiple sources, including proficiency using data collection and analysis tools such as Qualtrics, SPSS, Microsoft Power BI and NVIVO.
  • Experience developing and delivering workshops and capacity building offerings around evaluation and social impact measurement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and knowledge translation skills, with the ability to carry out presentations and deliver reports and publications, both digitally and in print.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and manage a diverse range of stakeholders in a respectful and culturally appropriate and informed manner.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $98,480 to $108,943 pa (HEW 7)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is part-time (0.6FTE, 3 days per week) and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
