Social justice is at the heart of UTS’s vision and purpose.
Launched in 2018, the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion is the first of its kind. A coordinating vehicle for the Social Impact Framework across the university, it is also responsible for leading and evaluating a number of whole of university equity and diversity strategies, including the Athena Swan pilot, the university’s Widening Participation Strategy, and the UTS Access and Inclusion Plan.
Deeply embedded within UTS recent 2027 strategy release, the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion acts as a gateway for the university to respond to community need, ensuring that UTS’s legacy is steeped in its commitment to social justice.
The UTS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion are recruiting a Partnerships Manager who will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of the Centre’s external relationships. This role will also lead and supervise an External Engagement and Events Officer.
The Partnerships Manager will grow and foster strategic relationships with government, industry and the wider community with the goal or promoting and supporting the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion’s external engagement profile and the continued generation of external investment in its initiatives.
You will be a demonstrated relationship builder who has navigated their way through a complex organisation and worked to engage external stakeholders in a university, government, not-for-profit or community sector organisation.
The successful applicant will have highly developed negotiation, networking and interpersonal skills and be motivated and energised with the ability to interpret strategic objectives and create plans to achieve them. High-level experience in designing funding proposals and commercial arrangements will be highly regarded.
Extensive project management skills and the ability to prioritise and effectively manage your own time will be crucial to success in this role.
While not essential, a familiarity with tertiary education sector and knowledge of professional and industry trends relevant to the Centre would be helpful in order to hit the ground running.
You will be a proven leader, comfortable with guiding and mentoring staff and share in UTS’s commitment to social justice.

Base Salary Range: $115,878 to $121,396 pa (HEW 9)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for 3 years.
